The Pointer boys soccer team has again begun to play at a championship-caliber level at playoff time.

Last year, the team left behind a so-so 6-10-2 mid-season record and won seven straight games including a CIF Div. I championship and a 3-2 win over El Dorado of Placentia (20-4-3) for the regional Southern California title.

Then, against No. 2 Poway they posted a 2-0 win on goals by Shea Balelo and Fin Rohnow with a shutout by goalkeeper Owen Purvis.
